Monthly Observations
Matan will assign a Jewish Special Educator dedicated to your school. 2 hour visits will occur each month for 7 months. Matan consultant will provide written reports to the Education Director after each visit with strategies to be implemented and assessment tools. A final report with recommendations for the future will be submitted by the end of the school year.
Program Design
Working according to the goals and values of your synagogue and school community, Matan will assess the school’s needs for either an inclusion program or a self-contained class for children with special needs. Matan will conduct a needs assessment, will develop all necessary intake forms and application materials, and will provide a 3 year plan for ongoing success of the program.
Individual Teacher Support
Matan consultant will work with one teacher at your school during the academic year. Support will include monthly classroom observation, weekly communication and feedback on lesson plans, and written reports. Must be a minimum of 3 months and can be a maximum of 9 months.
Whole System Approach
Matan staff will create a team in your synagogue consisting of lay leaders, professionals, and interested parties in order to design a more inclusive synagogue community. Services include development and implementation of needs assessment, guiding the group towards pragmatic goals, and creating a plan of action.
