Social Stories are short stories to help a child understand and behave appropriately in social situations. The goal of a Social Story is not to change the child’s behavior but rather to help him/her understand events and the expectations that go along with them. Social stories can and should be individualized to work with children on their specific challenges related to social situations.
Below is an example of a social story that we developed with PJ Library of Rochester in order to help all children enjoy their upcoming Purim Palooza. Take a look! We encourage you to use it as a guide so that you can create social stories for your upcoming events!
